We often see a gray sky in the morning, but it is actually shrouded in something called haze. It is estimated that many people are not yet clear what haze is. Its main components are a mixture of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and inhalable particulate matter. The first two are gaseous pollutants, which combine with fog to instantly make the sky gray. In fact, fog is a non-toxic and harmless natural phenomenon, and the formation of haze is mainly the result of the combined effect of a large number of suspended particles in the air and meteorological conditions. Haze often accompanies, and it occurs simultaneously. Conditions such as water vapor, calm wind, inversion, and condensation nuclei are indispensable.

The toxic components in haze not only pose a serious threat to people's health, but also have a significant impact on the operation of outdoor LED displays. In fact, we can distinguish haze into fog and haze because their main hazards to the display screen are different:

The first one: The harm of fog to outdoor display screens

Fog is formed by the condensation of water vapor in the air. That is to say, high humidity in the air can cause the LED display screen to become damp. Excessive humidity can cause the PCB board, power supply, power cord, and other components of the display screen to be easily oxidized and corroded, and even cause short circuits, leading to faults.

Secondly, the harm of haze to outdoor display screens

Haze is a collection of dust and various small particles suspended in the air, among which the dust particles suspended in the air are the core substance of haze. If under the influence of haze for a long time, various small dust in the air will enter the equipment through ventilation holes, which will accelerate wear and even damage fans and other equipment. Dust will also fall on the surface of control devices inside the display screen. This not only reduces the heat dissipation and insulation performance of the display screen, but also accelerates the aging of the display screen, affecting its normal service life.

So, how can the display screen withstand the test in haze weather for a long time? This requires users and engineers to pay more attention when purchasing and maintaining:

1. Firstly, during the procurement process, users must check whether the display screen meets the dust level required by the usage environment. In terms of dust prevention, the international standard is IP0X - IP6X, which is a design level to prevent foreign object intrusion. If installed in northern areas with frequent dust and haze weather, its front and back protection levels must reach IP65, which means it must adopt a completely dustproof structure, that is, it must be sealed in the state of water spraying.

2. Be sure to pay attention to whether the PCB board of the LED display screen has undergone anti-corrosion treatment, such as applying three anti-corrosion paint on the surface; Whether high-quality accessories are used for the power supply and power cord; And check if the welding area of the screen body that is most prone to corrosion has undergone rust prevention treatment.

3. During daily maintenance, it is important to regularly remove dust to avoid moisture absorption in the air during humid weather, which can lead to short circuits and mold damage to PCB boards and electronic components.
